A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND CEO BLANCA RAMIREZ
Dear Friends
I am thrilled to introduce myself as Comunilife’s new President and CEO. I come to Comunilife following a two-decade career in housing development and financing that resulted in thousands of units of housing for New York’s most vulnerable.
My primary goal is to build on Dr. Rosa Gil’s legacy who started Comunilife in 1989. I am committed to maintaining Comunilife’s mission of providing vulnerable communities with housing and culturally sensitive supportive services. Further, we will continue to live our vision that no one should be without the housing and supports they need to lead a healthy, meaningful life. Through our supportive and affordable housing, medical respite program, and suicide prevention activities for at-risk Latina teens our clients will be given the tools and supports to overcome their existing social determinants of health, have improved health and housing outcomes, and a future they could not have imagined before they accessed Comunilife’s services.
By working with Comunilife’s committed board and staff, I look forward to ensuring that our more than 4,000 clients continue to receive the services they require and that we develop new programs to meet emerging community needs.
In the coming months, I am eager to meet with members of the Comunilife community so that we can work together to improve the lives of New York’s homeless and low-income residents.
