Family and Youth Services.

Comunilife’s innovative after-school suicide-prevention program for adolescents is the only program of its kind in the country. Established in 2008, Life Is Precious gives at-risk teens a place to be themselves — culturally responsive, with people who understand.

Comunilife continues to respond the emerging needs of the community and is expanding Family and Youth Services beyond Life is Precious to include additional services for youth aging out of foster care, and more programs to address youth with risk factors associated with suicidal ideation and attempt.

§ 01The Program

Life is Precious is an after-school program for that improves the quality of daily life of our most vulnerable adolescents. The program addresses the risk factors associated with suicidal ideation and attempt.

We offer activities that allow teenagers to thrive by finding their unique voice and flourishing — providing them with the tools to visualize and achieve their goals. Through Life is Precious, teens learn to advocate for themselves and their peers through civic participation.

Music, dance, visual art — therapist-led sessions where what’s hard to say in words can be drawn, choreographed, or sung.
6:00 PM
Health & wellness
Group conversation, mindfulness, and skill-building around the risk factors Family and Youth Services are designed to address — supported by clinicians, not lectures.
Weekly

Sessions with parents and siblings — because we don’t ask any teen to heal alone. The team works with the whole family on communication, advocacy, and resources.
