Comunilife’s mental health services include both an outpatient mental health clinic and a range of housing options. Individuals residing in our housing are referred, as appropriate, to the Vida Guidance Center for the clinical treatments that will enable them to remain in the community. All clinical services incorporate Comunlife’s Multicultural Relational Approach for Diverse Populations, which integrates culturally appropriate information, sensitivity and awareness into clinical interventions with clients of diverse backgrounds. Outpatient Mental Health Clinic: Vida Guidance Center: Provides bilingual/bi-cultural psychiatric services to children, adolescents, adults and families in the Bronx. Supported Housing: Secures permanent housing and provides rent subsidies, care management, rehabilitative services and coordination with medical and mental health practitioners. Safe Haven Residences: Provides transitional residences for homeless individuals with chronic mental illness. Community Residence: Provides housing, care coordination, and rehabilitative and support services to 20 adults with chronic mental illness. Mi Salud: An Integrated Physical and Behavioral Health Care Program for Elderly Latinos: Started in March 2012, Mi Salud provides Latino seniors, who are clients at Comunilife’s Bronx based Vida Guidance Center, with coordinated physical healthcare services. Mi Salud improves seniors’ health literacy, medical adherence, lifestyle choices, and overall physical and mental well being.
