Comunilife’s 29th Anniversary Breakfast

On Wednesday, October 31st, 400 friends and supporters joined Comunilife to celebrate 29 years of providing housing and mental health services to at-risk New Yorkers. The event raised more than $300,000 for Life is Precious™, Comunilife’s suicide prevention program for at-risk Latina teens.

In her remarks, Dr. Rosa M. Gil, Comunilife’s Founder, President and CEO said “We are celebrating a decade of saving lives of Latina adolescents at risk of suicide through the Life is Precious™ program. In 2008, we created the Life is Precious™ program in response to the alarming statistics the New York State Department of Health released; that suicide is the second leading cause of death for Latina teens. You have joined us today to celebrate the lives of Latina teens and we are so grateful for your investments in Life is Precious™ which yield a very high return.”

Taking place at the Marriott Marquis, Comunilife continued its tradition of honoring individuals who are committed to Comunilife’s mission and the New Yorkers it serves. The 2018 honorees were:

Todd A. Gomez, Market Executive North Region, Bank of American Merrill Lynch
Doris B. Gonzalez, Director, Corporate Citizenship, IBM
Aaron Koffman, Principal, The Hudson Companies
Steven Safyer MD, President & CEO, Montefiore Medicine
The Honorable Luis R. Sepúlveda, New York State Senate

Thank you For making Comunilife’s 29th Anniversary Breakfast a success!
