On Wednesday, October 4th, 460 friends and supporters joined Comunilife in raising more than $340,000 for Life is Precious™, the agency’s ground breaking program suicide prevention program for Latina teens in New York City.
In her remarks, Dr. Rosa M. Gil, Comunilife’s Founder, President and CEO said “We celebrate the lives of all those that we serve, but today, we are here for one of our programs – Life is Precious. I believe the reason is because collectively we want to throw little torches of light and hope to lead Latina adolescents out of the darkness of depression and suicide risk behaviors….opening the path to a bright and productive life.”
Taking place at the Marriott Marquis, Comunilife continued its tradition of honoring individuals who are committed to Comunilife’s mission and the New Yorkers it serves. The 2017 honorees were: Michael Dowling, President and CEO, Northwell Health, Keith Mestrich, President and CEO, Amalgamated Bank, RuthAnne Visnauskas, CEO and Executive Director, NYS Home and Community Renewal, and Mark Wagar, President of Heritage Medical Systems.
It’s not too late to support Comunilife’s 28th Anniversary Breakfast.
